Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 13, 2026
1. Introduction
Ashrise was built with privacy as a foundational principle, not an afterthought. We believe that your recovery journey is deeply personal, and your data belongs to you.
2. Local-First Storage
All of your data—including your check-ins, mood logs, journal entries, and streak history—is stored **locally on your device**. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not sync your personal recovery data to any cloud servers by default.
3. What Information We Collect
Because Ashrise operates in a local-only mode, we do not collect, transmit, or store your personal recovery data on our servers. The app only accesses the information necessary to function on your device.
4. Health and Recovery Data
Ashrise is a recovery support app that stores sensitive health-related information locally on your device. This includes:
- Recovery check-ins — daily sobriety status and streak history
- Mood and craving logs — emotional state entries and craving intensity records
- Journal entries — personal notes and reflections you write in the app
- Motivations — your personal reasons for recovery that you choose to store
- Emergency contacts — names and contact information you add for support purposes
This data is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to our servers, shared with third parties, or used for advertising or analytics purposes. We do not have access to this information.
This health data is used solely to provide core app functionality — tracking your recovery progress, displaying your history, and powering the app's features. It is not used for any secondary purpose.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
Retention: All your recovery data is stored locally on your device for as long as the app is installed. No personal health data is retained on our servers, because none is ever sent to us.
Deleting your data: You have full control and can delete your data at any time:
- Delete all app data: Go to your device's Settings → Apps → Ashrise → Clear Data (Android) or uninstall the app (iOS/Android). This permanently removes all locally stored data.
- Delete specific entries: Individual check-ins, journal entries, and other records can be deleted from within the app.
- Subscription data: Anonymous subscription identifiers managed by RevenueCat are retained as required for subscription validation. You may contact us at [email protected] to request deletion of any RevenueCat-linked data associated with your app.
6. Subscriptions and RevenueCat
If you choose to view or purchase a subscription, Ashrise uses RevenueCat to present subscription offerings, validate purchases, and keep your premium entitlement status in sync with the App Store.
In the current Ashrise integration, we do not create a named account for you in RevenueCat. The app initializes RevenueCat without a custom account identifier, so RevenueCat uses an automatically generated anonymous app user ID to manage subscription state. We do not send your recovery logs, check-ins, cravings, motivations, journal entries, emergency contacts, or other recovery content to RevenueCat.
For subscriptions, RevenueCat and Apple may process limited purchase-related data such as the anonymous app user ID, product identifiers, entitlement status, purchase history, and technical app or device information required to operate subscriptions. This data is used for app functionality and subscription analytics, not for advertising or cross-app tracking.
7. Optional Features
You may choose to enable optional features such as Biometric Unlock (Face ID / Touch ID) to secure the app. This authentication happens entirely on your device, and we do not have access to your biometric data.
8. Backups and Export
You have full control over your data. You can export your progress summaries as a PDF or generate milestone share cards. You can also manually backup and restore your full app data via a JSON file. These exports are generated locally on your device.
9. Contact Us
